My, My so much time has happened since My last post. Which was May 2sc of 2020.

Mom and I celebrated Our 71st anniversary on May 31st 2020. Then Ramona turned 87 on July 6th. On July 28th at about 6:15 PM She fell and hit Her head and cased bleeding on the brain, And was operated on later that night.  Ramona never was able to communicate with Us after that and pass on on August 3rd on My 91st birthday. I no longer needed a two bedroom apartment so I move in to a one bedroom just down the hall. Which I am very happy about. In January 2021 Mary Gambrel a close Friend of Ramona and I start keeping company. Her husband Ben and Ramona work together at H B Liesrweits CO. for 26 years. Bennie passed away in 2016, So Mary was alone also. We enjoyed Our company together very much. Then February of 2021 I lost Our oldest Son David. He died of acute pancratia's at 71 years old. He is now at the National Veterans Cemetery out by Van Meter IA. Life is tuff to loose a child, That isn't the way life is to go. July of 2022 His Daughter Sara Figgins passed away leaving 5 children a husband and 7 Grandchildren. Then August 6th 2022 I lost My dear friend Mary to adrenal carcinoma. Life the last 3 years have bin tuff for Me, But I am so blessed with a large loving family.

I now am 93 will be 94 the 3rd of August. I have some health issues which is very understandable at My tender years. CHF,  Stag 3 Kidney failure along with Atrial Februation. Other than that I'm in great shape! I still enjoy life most of the time and am blessed with family. So we'll see what lies ahead in the next year or so.

Love to all My Family and Friends.

Hi everyone;
Two years and two days ago was My last blog. My My there has been a log happened in that two years.
May 31st 2019 Mom and I celebrated Our 70th wedding Anniversary. Wow what a deal that was. We celebrated at the VFW between Des Monies and Ankeny on the 28th of May. So So many of Our Friends and Family came out for Us to enjoy. Also the same day Our Son Jim and His Wife Cheri celebrated their 45th Anniversary and many of their Friends joined Us also.
We have been here at Mill Pond come the 19th of May 2020 for 6 years. ( Yes time fly's when You get old also ) So We had cake left over from Our celebration at the VFW ( Because Our Family was really prepared ) So We had another party here at Mill Pond for Our Friends that share living at this wonderful place. We share the big cake and had Ice Cream with it for close to 90 more friends. It was wonderful.
Going back a bit. In 2017 Grandma and I became Great Great Grandparents on July 4th to Our Little Ella Our Great Great Granddaughter. Then on July 22nd 2018 Our little Seabass  arrived Our first Great Great Grandson. Then on February 4th 2020 Our little Percy and Penelope Twin Sisters Our Great Great Granddaughters joined their older Sister and Brother. My My that makes old people realize your over the hill just a bit. They are the Wonderful children of Jake and Shelby Figgins One of Our Great Grandson's and Wife.
Now coming up another Great Grandson Tony and Amber are expecting a Great Great Granddaughter around June 9th. which makes 5 Great Great Grandchildren in under 3 years. We also have 26 more Grandchildren left to start Family's. We are Blessed.
On a much Sadder note My Sister Verla Morgan went to meet Our Lord on April 9th 2020 Do to cancer. We were blessed to have Her as a Family Member for just over 82 years. She is so missed by Her Family as well as My Other two Sisters and Myself.
I so love and enjoy all Our Family and Friends, Facebook Friends ETC. What would Life be like if we didn't have all of You? What would it be like to wake up in the morning and all we had was just ME? No one to care about ME, On one to Love ME, On one to say Hi Earl how are You doing today? No one to care if I lived or died. If all I ever had was just ME. Mom and I are so blessed to have ALL OF YOU in Our lives! God's Blessings and Peace Be With Each And Everyone Of You! It's been a long time!

Hi everyone; 1 - 5- 2019

It's been a long time sines I have added anything to Out Blog. So will try to do an up grade.
As many already know we are living in Ankeny Iowa now, At Mill Pond Retirement Community. We have been here for 4 years and 8 months up to now. It has been a good move for the most part, But just like all things in life things change. Some of the reasons we moved here no longer available. Like emergency care on site, No more. They just call 911 and let them take care of it.
There has been a lot of other changes also. When we move here there was 53 Independent Living Now 117 Total. There was 28 Assisted living now 42. There was 26 Bed Skilled Care now 56 Bed Skilled Care. Before there was no Memory Care now 18 Armor Memory Care Apartments. So it has almost doubled in size. Along with doubling in size means other changes also. New is a theater, Town Center, Club Room, ID Dinning room. AS Dinning room, and Memory Care Dinning room also.
All has been done in good taste looks wise, Maybe not use wise. In my site more for looks than practical. ( I'm old school though )
This is one picture I took during construction 64 units in that building.
Three story AS Living top two stories MC First floor. With also under ground garage.
Main Entry along with Offices and Town Center, Chapel and Auditorium.
New 64 Apartment Completed Building along with under ground garage.
We live in the old apartment building to the west of the four story building you see here.

Our Family Has Grown A Lot!

We now have two Great, Great Grandchildren, Ella born 4th of July 2017 and Her Bother Sea Bass Born 22 sec of July 2018. Our Great Grandson Jacob Figgins and His Wife Shelby are the parents. I am so humbled by this and so blessed, Never in my wildest dream did I ever think this would happen. ( I Love It )

I'm going to close for now and add more later.

My thoughts for today as I get started Blogging anew.

It has been a long time sense I have posted anything on our Blog. Part of it is we no longer go to Texas in the winters, Part is I'm getting lazier as the years roll by. I get to thinking that nobody is interested in what is happening in our lives ( we live a pretty simple life ) Then the other day I got to thinking we all live a simple life, Just one day at a time. None of us know what tomorrow will bring. That is probably on of the greatest blessing to mankind.  If we knew what lied ahead we would all be basket cases. So for today I am thankful that life is just like it is, And I am so blessed to have so many friends and family to love.
  God's Blessings to all.
